FHEA Fall Expo & Educational Conference 2023
Meet Avidicare at FHEA Fall Expo and Conference in St. Petersburg, FL. We look forward to see you!
The educational session on Friday 1st of December includes two important session regarding Air Quality:
9:00 – 10:00am
“Contaminated Air: The Invisible Threat to Patients and Staff”
Dr. Linda Lee, UV Angel
Dr. Lee will outline how health care environments can benefit from utilizing air disinfection systems to actively reduce harmful bacteria, fungi, and viruses. Attendees will be able to understand the areas of focus in developing and implementing air and surface contamination systems in healthcare settings, and how air cleaning technologies can be a resource for effective microbial control. Dr. Lee will also dive into the importance of gathering data from air cleaning technologies to ensure the most effective treatment possible.
10:00 – 11:00am
“Resilience is in the Air: A Risk-Based Approach to Air Quality Management”
Kathy Warye, Infection Prevention Partners
Despite the emphasis on ventilation and air quality management technologies in the wake of Covid-19, little movement has been made in making institutions more resilient in addressing airborne hazards. Except for operating rooms, airborne infection isolation rooms (AIIRs), and pharmaceutical compounding, all areas from emergency department waiting rooms to administrative offices are treated similarly despite wide ranging differences in the type and concentration of airborne hazards. New technologies entering the market are making it possible to move from the current “one size fits all” approach to the management of air quality based on risk of transmission. The presenter will provide a foundations in the behavior of bioaerosols and transmission of organisms of concern; outline a risk-based approach to air quality management and the components of an air quality management plan’ and review supplemental technologies designed to address airborne hazards.
